Why an independent greenhouse partner matters

Most greenhouse projects are lost in the specification stage, long before construction begins.

When an investor approaches manufacturers directly, each one answers with the greenhouse it builds. A glass house factory proposes glass; a film greenhouse supplier proposes film; a hydroponic equipment vendor proposes its own growing system. All three quotations may be technically valid and still not comparable, because each describes a different scope at a different level of climate control.

The result is a decision made on headline price per square metre. That number hides the variables that determine whether the facility is profitable: installed heating capacity, screen configuration, water treatment, labour requirement and the yield the specification can realistically support in the local climate.

Aegis works the other way around. We establish the specification your crop and climate require, express it as a single scope of work, and only then ask suppliers to price it. The quotations that come back describe the same greenhouse, so the comparison is meaningful and the budget holds through construction.

Is Aegis Greenhouse Systems a manufacturer or a consultant?

Neither exactly. Aegis is a commercial greenhouse solution provider. We do the consulting work — feasibility, specification, cost modelling and supplier comparison — and then stay on the project to coordinate supply, logistics, installation supervision and commissioning. We do not own a factory, so the specification is not tied to one product line.

How is Aegis paid, and does that affect supplier selection?

Aegis is engaged by the investor or grower for the project scope, not by manufacturers. Supplier selection is documented against your written specification with comparable quotations, so the basis of every recommendation can be reviewed by you or your financing partner.

Do you work on small or first-time greenhouse projects?

Yes. Project size matters less than whether the investment is commercial in intent. First-time investors often benefit most from independent specification work, because the costliest mistakes are made before construction starts. For very small hobby-scale structures, however, a full project scope is rarely economic.

Can you review a quotation or specification we already have?

Yes. Specification review and quotation comparison are among the most common ways projects start with us. We compare the scopes on a like-for-like basis, identify exclusions that typically become variation orders, and confirm whether the proposed climate control matches your crop and local climate data.

Which languages and time zones do you work across?

Project communication is handled in English. We routinely coordinate between investors, European and Asian manufacturers and local installation teams across multiple time zones, and we manage documentation so that technical decisions are recorded rather than left in conversation.
