Solution

Turnkey Greenhouse Solutions

Turnkey delivery is attractive because it moves coordination risk away from the investor. It only works when the specification is written before the contract is signed. Aegis builds the technical baseline first, then manages the delivery chain against it.

Customer challenges

The problems this service is built to remove

These are the failure points we see most often in greenhouse investments. Each one is addressed by a defined part of our scope.

Turnkey contracts hide an undefined scope

We write the performance specification before the contract, so the turnkey price is anchored to measurable criteria instead of a vague equipment list.

Equipment arrives from six countries on six schedules

One master schedule and one logistics plan govern every package, with inspection and packing control before anything ships.

Installation quality varies by local crew

Aegis supervises installation against manufacturer tolerances and documented checkpoints, not against the crew’s own judgement.

The facility is handed over but cannot produce

Commissioning includes performance testing and a first-cycle crop plan, so handover means a greenhouse that grows rather than one that merely runs.

Project design and engineering

The turnkey baseline starts as a design: production plan, structural concept, climate strategy and layout drawings that define what the facility must achieve before any supplier is approached.

  • Production plan and yield targets per crop cycle
  • Structural, glazing and layout concept design
  • Climate, heating, CO₂ and screen strategy
  • Irrigation, fertigation and water treatment design

Equipment sourcing

Every package is tendered to qualified manufacturers against the same written specification. We normalise offers so scope, materials and performance are genuinely comparable before selection.

  • Qualified manufacturer shortlist per package
  • Bill of quantities and technical clarification rounds
  • Bid levelling on scope, materials and performance
  • Factory inspection, packing and shipping control

Supplier coordination

Structure, climate installation, irrigation, screens, internal logistics and civil works arrive from different manufacturers. Aegis operates as the coordinating layer, running one schedule, one document register and one change-control process.

  • Consolidated project schedule and critical path
  • Interface and responsibility matrix per package
  • Change control with cost and schedule impact
  • Weekly progress reporting to investors

Installation support

On site we supervise sequencing, verify workmanship against manufacturer tolerances and resolve interface issues before they become rework or warranty disputes.

  • Installation sequencing and crew coordination
  • Quality inspection against agreed checkpoints
  • Snag list management and resolution tracking
  • Health, safety and site access coordination

Project management

Every turnkey package is priced against a written specification with defined performance criteria, so later cost increases have to be justified against the baseline instead of assumed.

  • Single accountable project manager
  • Performance guarantees for climate and irrigation systems
  • Payment schedule tied to verified milestones
  • Contingency planning for logistics and permitting

Start-up and grower readiness

A commissioned greenhouse is not a producing greenhouse. We plan the first crop cycle together with your agronomy team, including climate strategy, irrigation recipes and staff training.

  • Commissioning and performance testing
  • First-cycle climate and irrigation strategy
  • Operator and technician training programme
  • Spare part and maintenance planning

How we work

Turnkey delivery process

Every phase ends in a document you can review, approve and hold suppliers to.

  1. 01

    Baseline definition

Scope, performance criteria and budget are fixed in writing, forming the contract baseline for every downstream package.

Output: Turnkey scope and performance specification

  2. 02

    Design and engineering

Concept and detailed design are produced across structure, climate, irrigation and controls, with a complete interface matrix.

Output: Engineering package and layout drawings

  3. 03

    Sourcing and contracting

Packages are tendered, levelled and awarded to qualified manufacturers with milestone-linked payment schedules.

Output: Awarded contracts and master schedule

  4. 04

    Manufacturing and logistics

Fabrication is inspected, packing lists are verified and shipments are sequenced to match the installation programme.

Output: Inspection reports and logistics plan

  5. 05

    Construction and installation

Civil works and installation run under Aegis supervision with quality checkpoints and active snag management.

Output: Site QA records and snag closure

  6. 06

    Commissioning and first crop

Systems are performance tested, operators are trained and the first crop cycle is planned with your agronomy team.

Output: Handover pack and grower start-up plan

FAQ

Turnkey Greenhouse Solutions: common questions

What is included in a turnkey greenhouse solution?

A typical turnkey scope covers design and engineering, structure and glazing, climate and heating installation, irrigation and fertigation, screens, internal transport, controls, installation, commissioning and start-up support. Civil works and utility connections are usually local packages coordinated by Aegis.

Is turnkey more expensive than buying packages separately?

Package prices are similar; the difference is coordination risk. Turnkey delivery with a written baseline usually reduces total project cost because interface gaps, redesign and construction delays are far more expensive than coordination fees.

Can Aegis take over a project that already started?

Yes. We regularly audit ongoing projects, rebuild the specification and schedule, and take over supplier coordination to bring the project back to a controlled baseline.
